Economic education and common sense sorely lacking in Michigan.

Gini Cronover writes in a rebuttal, "Selling our birthright" (Grand Rapids Press, Pulse, Mar. 18, 2006), as follows:
"The author also suggested that lowering taxes created jobs. This is a Republican myth. Clinton raised taxes and we had eight years of real job creation and prosperity."

If that were true, wouldn't it follow that even higher taxes would guarantee full employment? Of course not. But NOT because the deduction is wrong (even though it's a stretch), it's because the premise is wrong.

Raising taxes does not create jobs.

As for the "job creation and prosperity" part, Gini is free to believe whatever he/she wants, but believing it does not make it so. By all measurments, Clinton failed.
